This CDF Gatekeeper thing is turning into a really crazy kettle of fish! It's going to be part of the CDF Central Analysis Farm (CDF-CAF) which necessitates that it run the "Condor CAF" and "Glide CAF" software which in turn requires that we run the "DCAF" software.
Perhaps needless to say, this stuff is non-trivial, but more importantly, some of the requirements of those software packages appear to be, ah, at odds with various things in the UW-HEP and GLOW clusters.
I just installed Scientific Linux on "cdfgrid01.hep.wisc.edu", which I think will be used as a "Condor glide-in" head-node (not to be confused with head-cheese) so CDF can submit jobs to our cluster.
Looks like CDF is getting on the Condor bandwagon. I got a quote for a 2U dual 3 GHz Xeon system for a Wisconsin CDF "head node" today.
