The Pheno "preprint room" (room 5290 Chamberlin Hall) now has a nice high volume printer. After some research and a lot discussion, we've decided to standardize on the HP LasertJet 4350tdn for high volume printing locations. It's available to Unix users as "lp5" and Mac users as "HP4350 5290 Ch".
We just installed a new LaserJet 1320n. It's in the "Pheno Bullpen" (room 5264 Chamberlain Hall.) Looks like Mac users don't need new drivers. Unix users can find it via the "lp5b" and "lp5bsimplex" queues.
We installed a new HP Color LaserJet 3700tn today. It's in the UW-HEP kitchen, and it's a pretty darn nice. Mac OS-X 10.3 users need to download the latest HP "installer" to properly use this printer. Details about UW-HEP printing can be found at...

The UW-HEP color printer located in the kitchen (aka "HP Color LaserJet 4500" on Macs and "cp4" on Unix) is almost entirely dead. It only works intermittently. It is beyond repair. We will get a new one as soon as we can.
The third floor printer "lp3" has been repaired. DoIT replaced the tray two roller assembly, or somesuch, and did a thorough cleaning.
The primary 3rd floor printer (lp3) is still shutdown. We hope to have it repaired sometime this week. Meanwhile, the secondary 3rd floor printer (lp3b) is still functioning.
