Madison is served by the the following airlines at the Dane County Regional Airport (click here for more information):

There is nonstop air service from Chicago, Cincinatti, Denver, Detroit, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Newark, and St. Louis.

Take a taxi from the Madison Airport to campus, which costs about $15 one way. We do not recommend to rent a car or take the bus.

Via Bus from Chicago/O'Hare

The Van Galder Bus Company offers service between Chicago/O'Hare and the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union. Busses depart every 30 to 90 minutes and reach Madison in about 3.5 hours. The cost is $22 each way.

Via Auto from Fermilab

From the Pine St. exit (west side of the Lab) take Kirk Rd. north (right). Go to Fabyan Rd. and turn left on to Fabyan Rd. Take Fabyan to Randall Rd. and turn right onto Randall (north). Take Randall to I-90.

  • Take I-90 West to Madison. It is about 100 mi. to the Madison exit, exit 142. (It's a LEFT exit).
  • Take Exit 142 left onto Hwy. 12-18 west. This is a local highway going into Madison.
  • Exit at John Nolen Dr. and continue two miles to the Monona Terrace parking structure entrance, which will be on your right.
