Calorimeter Trigger Input Cabling

This page refers to Figure 3 of the TPG to RCT interface document (CMS IN 2001/016) displaying the tower mapping in an RCT crate by receiver card, mezzanine card on the receiver card, and serial link channel for the chip on the mezzanine card:
Each receiver card has 8 mezzanine cards, alternating ECAL and HCAL so cards 0,2,4,6 are for ECAL inputs and 1,3,5,7 are HCAL inputs.The large gray (or orange if you have the document in color) number in the background refers to the receiver card for the crate. Inside of the square region (defined by h and f) for each tower are a mezzanine card number and a serial link channel letter (A,B,C,D).Each mezzanine card will receive 4 channels of input corresponding to 8 tower energies on 2 2-pair cables attached to it via a VGA type connector. Two towers will be transmitted over each serial link cable.
For example, the cables going into Receiver Card 3, mezzanine card 2 would contain the ECAL inputs and mezzanine card 3 would receive the HCAL inputs. The two 2-pair cables would be used to send the signals of 8 towers to the RCT mezzanine card. This configuration would be the same for the ECAL and HCAL (mezzanine cards 2 and 3):

Assignment of ECAL & HCAL TPGs to Trigger Cables

The h is given for the right hand edge (crates 0-8) of the tower and f are given for the top edge of the tower.The tower index refers to the first or second 8-bit ET sent on the serial link.
