Slides 11-September-2002
- I took a couple of weeks off. In
these plots you can see that the new alignment picks up some new
tracks in the regions where arcs meet, which is exactly where one would
expect them. Stubs completely within a single arc should be consistent:
not pointing correctly to the beamline perhaps, but consistent. The new
alignment also includes better t0 and drift speed, so we expect to pick
up more stubs across the board--and we do.
- I compare the chi-squared from the old stub-finder+new alignment to
the new stub finder. The upper histograms
show the chi-squared for the old stub finder but new alignment, showing
3 and 4 hit stubs respectively. The fundamental issues with this stub
finder are not resolved by new drift constants and alignment. The lower
histograms are for the new stub finder, and look much better, although
there is still a problem with finding the chi-squared for stubs which
cross stacks. The new tracker is not returning stubs with 3 hits.

We will not forget the murders. We will not forget where the
murderers
came from; who inspired them; who financed them; who supported them;
and who still reveres them.
