Slides 1-November-2004
- Bob has plots of energy and rphi distributions
and fits for Z-mu mu and W candidates. The normalization of the fit to
the W drphi uses a gaussian and a scaled copy of the z drphi peak. Normalization
is only for the central 5 bins (the only things he keeps as W's). Note
that the yields cannot be directly compared between W and Z because they
come from different streams. The asymmetry numbers quoted there assume
the background has not asymmetry.
The lower plots have looser cuts (on the left) and events from bhmu
stream (on the right) which had CMUX trigger w/BMU muon. Asymmetry in
this small ribbon is .110+- .032.
He also gives
some description of the cuts, which differ from
those given last time (includes energy in calorimeter left by muon).
The second page looks at the west and east fits, to see if the
backgrounds are asymmetric: and they are.
