CMS Trigger Meetings Fall 2001

The next full CMS trigger meeting will take place during the CMS week at CERN, on Tuesday, Sept. 25. The morning will be devoted to the Calorimeter Trigger and Global Trigger, The afternoon will be a joint Muon/Trigger meeting. We will also have the CMS Annual Review of the Trigger on Monday morning, Sept. 24. The LHCC comprehensive review of the Trigger will take place the next week on Monday, Oct. 1. The Preliminary DRAFT Agendae are copied below.

Information for the reviews is found on: http://cmsdoc.cern.ch/~wsmith/trigrev.html, including the milestones we will be required to report progress on.

We will also have a dedicated workshop on Saturday, Sept, 29 on how to organize the all of the trigger software. The eventual goal would be to have a system that downloads the FPGA's and programmable LUT's, runs checks on the JTAG, reads back everything to verify it is downloaded properly and then responds back to Run Control that the system is set up. Here there are interfaces to DAQ, Run Control and Slow Control. Next, these parameters and FPGA configurations should be derived from the ORCA simulation and also provide modules to the ORCA simulation and data reconstruction. Therefore, we have interfaces to the DAQ, PRS and CCS. Members of these groups are also encouraged to participate and to give talks. (We have room on the agenda, please contribute.)

** Please review the Agendae below and comment on or confirm (if you have not already done so) the talks scheduled. Additional contributions are welcomed!

** Please provide W. Smith with one or two summary transparencies of your subsystem that we can show at the reviews before Sept. 14. We will need to cover what we had planned to do in the past year, what we accomplished and what we plan to do in the next year.

Please provide copies to G. Wrochna for muon trigger items.

You may check updates of this information on: http://cmsdoc.cern.ch/~wsmith/Agenda0901.html
