Abstract: This document summarizes information gathered from the
front-end electronics, trigger and readout systems about their design requirements
and constraints for synchronization. This information was presented at
the CMS synchronization workshop held at CERN on November 11. The contents
of this document are preliminary and not to be taken as a final design
It is hoped that this document will continue a dialog that will result
in a coherent design for CMS synchronization across all subsystems.

Abstract: We describe the measurements of sag on P1A 2 layer prototype
Cathode Strip Chamber and compare the results with calculated values. Using
this information we predict the sag of P1 6-layer chamber with the present
design for the aluminium frame, and compare this value to measured sag.

Abstract: A full scale six layer Trapezoidal Cathode Strip Chamber
Prototype of 0.8m x 1.2m x 3.3m was constructed and tested at Fermilab.
The chamber construction and the first results on the chamber characteristics
are presented in this paper.

Abstract: The endcaps for the CMS detector are toroid-shaped steel
disks 14 meters in diameter and 600mm thick. The inner hole is 2.2m in
diameter. Each disk is fabricated from large 600mm think steel blocks with
are electroslag welded together. These disks will be subject to large magnetic
forces up to 70 MN. The deflections and stresses caused by these forces
on the RF1 disk are analyzed by a 3D finite element calculation. The result
is that the maximum deflection of RF1 is 3.0mm and the maximum stress on
the edge of the inner hole is 42M Pa.

Abstract: The results of measuring flatness and stiffness of large
honeycomb panels (~3.3x1.2 m2) suitable for CMS Cathode Strip Chamber production
are presented. Commertially made panels (PLASCORE) with 12.7 mm polycarbonate
core and 1.6 mm G10 skins were found to meet our spec. on panel flatness
of 0.25-0.30 mm over 0.6 m span (half chamber width). Their stiffness is
in a agreement with an expectation based on G10 properties and panel geometry.

Abstract: The magnetic field for the CMS detector is displayed.
From the magnetic field map the forces on the endcap disks are calculated.
The maximum stresses and deflections of these disks are displayed. The
magnetic fields in the region of the MF1A and MF1B CSC muon chambers are
described as are the fields in the barrel MSn drift chambers. The radial
and axial forces on the coil elements due to the magnetic field are shown.
